Kanon 2006 - Episode 1

Episode 1: Overture of Silver ~overture~
A young man, Yuuichi Aizawa, gets off a train and leaves the station as he enters a town that is showered by snow. He left the area seven years ago and has now returned to his memories that he left behind. Upon arriving at the train station, he happened to wait for a girl named Nayuki for 2 hours, shivering from the cold weather. After their meet, it seems that Yuuichi and Nayuki were cousins after all. Yuuichi is staying at Nayuki’s house, because he’s going to study at her place.
The next sequence was followed by a narration of a girl, and its all bout her endless dream with a boy.
Its morning already, Yuuichi was up because of Nayuki’s voice. He got out of bed and went outside his room. Nayuki was in a hurry in finding her uniform; she even asked Yuuichi if he saw her uniform (good thing Yuuichi remembered). Nayuki needs to be early, since she mentioned to Yuuichi that she is captain of the track and field area. After changing her uniform, they both went downstairs and she puts on her shoes/snow boots. Akiko suddenly appeared beside Yuuichi bringing with her a container full of hot water, Yuuichi was surprised. The hot water was used for the frozen gates of the house. Boy, that place sure was very cold even Yuuichi wasn’t used to cold weather. Nayuki ran outside and waved a goodbye to the two.
Yuuichi helped Akiko in plowing the snow outside the house. Even Yuuichi is not used to plow snow either; Akiko even beat him in plowing more snow. After the hard work that he did outside, he sat down on the couch exhausted. Akiko offered him a nice warm tea, Yuuichi then narrated about his life in that place seven years ago when he was still a kid. Nayuki appeared and told Yuuichi that they will be going to tour around the city. So the two went out and tour the place.
Both of them arrived at Nayuki’s school, Nayuki sure is a good tour guide. There were also 2 of the major characters that are still unnamed that was seen on the first episode. Kaori appeared with her assistant or rather her dogsbody and candidate for a boyfriend; Kitagawa. Kaori even knock of some sense of Kitagawa after asking Nayuki if she and Yuuichi are on a date. A flashback suddenly appeared in Yuuichi’s mind after Kaori said goodbye.
Both of them went to a nearby hilltop, Yuuichi decided to tell to Nayuki about his memories. He told her that he had forgotten a lot of things in the past. Nayuki told him that, his memories will soon regain, little by little. After their sight-seeing; Yuuichi and Nayuki went shopping. Yuuichi doesn’t want to go inside the supermarket so both of them agreed that he will be staying outside.
Yuuichi was staring at the clouds and regained a lil’ bit from his memories that he already saw that scenery before, when suddenly a girl shouting at him from behind his back telling him to move out of the way was running fast. Super fast that the two hit on each other, the girl was pouting on why Yuuichi didn’t get out of the way. Yuuichi apologized to the girl but the girl holds his hand and dragged him to a nearby café. The girl told him that his life is in danger too because of her. But she could say another thing she immediately docked her face, Yuuichi noticed that someone was looking for her outside but the girl said that the man was after her. He asked the girl if it was connected with the bag that was with her, the girl shake her head and denied what he said. It was only after Yuuichi’s convincing words that made the girl admit what she had done to the taiyaki owner. She had forgotten her wallet after all and was startled when a cat suddenly jumped out of nowhere she was also scared when the taiyaki vendor shouted at the cat and so she flees. Yuuichi was not convinced at what she said and decided to ask more questions and the girl told him that she was really hungry. In the end Yuuichi dragged the girl to where the taiyaki owner had been selling, they both asked sorry and Yuuichi had to pay for the girl’s taiyaki too. The girl was happy after what Yuuichi did and even decided to eat all taiyaki by herself. Yuuichi teases her that she’s a strange girl that keeps on saying uguu~. After the incident both of them introduce to each other, the girls name was Tsukimiya Ayu while the boy’s name was Aizawa Yuuichi. Ayu seemed to know Yuuichi too bad Yuuichi didn’t know about her. Ayu told a promise that they will meet again; yet another weird flashback went to Yuuichi’s mind. Ayu then waved goodbye, Yuuichi just stared until he suddenly realized that he forgot about Nayuki.
He ran as fast as he could, he arrived at the place only to see Nayuki that she was waiting for him and even called him a liar. Upon their arrival at their home, Nayuki accepted his apology and told him that both of them were now even. Yuuichi’s luggage had also arrived in time. Now he only needed one thing, a clock. Good thing, Nayuki has lots of alarm clock to choose from and decided to give him the clock with a neko design. Before he could get out of Nayuki’s room, she told him to say Oyasumi (goodnight) before going to sleep, and so he did. Yuuichi was already inside his room, turning off the lights, going to bed and thinking of the girl in his memories….
His dream flashbacks in the past, Yuuichi and Nayuki was still young at that time….Both of them went shopping, but Yuuichi wanted to stay outside. Suddenly a little girl bumped him behind. The girl was crying so hard, he asked her named and the girl replied Ayu but the people thought that they were fighting; so Yuuichi got her hand and both of them run together.

Final thoughts:
The anime reminds me of a crossover between Love Hina and Haruhi Suzumiya. Yuuichi reminds me of Kyon who keeps narrarating about his life and at the same time he reminds me of Keitaro as well (forgetfull of promises), while Ayu reminds me of both Asahina and Haruhi.The animation and the characters itself are simply adorable.Yuki, a season that i never had experienced so i was a bit jealous of watching them having fun T_T. I can’t wait for more eps. to come… I already convinced Sakimichi about Kanon anyway, so were going to give it a shot! Oh and if your reading this then i have a treat for you.AYU GLOMPED YUUICHI UNCUT VERSION BY SAKURA!
