Certain circumstances suggest that the remake really showed clues on mysterious happenings on the anime. I’m trying to point out a few of them
-Unknown place
Yuuichi lives with Nayuki somewhere in Japan, and it looks like the place was still a mystery on regarding it’s location and name
The place did covered with snow all the time
-Akiko was kind of surprised after hearing Ayu’s name (suspicious? maybe.)
Remember when Yuuichi carried a sack of rice and introduced Ayu to Akiko. Akiko was surprised upon hearing her name and she probably hid the truth about her. Maybe she knew about Ayu’s real past.
-A fox represented as Mikoto on her arc (related to vengeance)
While carrying Mikoto on his back, Yuuichi noticed a fox on the hill and then ran away. Mikoto’s hair color has the same color as the fox.
-Ayu’s past was also mysterious
She’s the same as Yuuichi’s grade right? But it looks like she only know a few… Although she live in the same place as Nayuki, but still she doesn’t know much of it.
-Ayu’s important thing was Yuuichi after all?
Ayu kept on searching for an important thing that she forgot and only Yuuichi is with her all the time. She probably wanted Yuuichi to notice that.
-Mikoto lost her memories
Was it really true? Fans, suggested that probably Mikoto was faking it. She was probably connected to Yuuichi’s past. At the opening credits. she did let us see her bracelet, maybe Yuuichi gave that to her.
-Yuuichi’s promises
Love Hina? Yuuichi promised 5 girls although he didn’t recall.
Ayu- he promised he’ll come back
Nayuki – still unknown
Mikoto – still unknown
Shiori – Make a 10-feet tall snowman with Yuuichi
Mai – A flashback when they were kids was revealed in the opening credits
-Mai is a demon slayer
Who would ever think that this lovely lady will be a demon slayer? Yuuichi saw Mai with a long sword on her hand and pull it whenever she saw demons in school. She also told Yuuichi that she’s guarding the whole campus.
-Mai is strange
Why she knew about Mikoto and her whereabouts?
-Shiori’s strange illness
In truth, Shiori suffered illness since birth. I don’t know why she kept it as a secret from Yuuichi
-Ayu narrated her dreams related to snow
Well,she did mention a never-ending dream. It may be possoble that Ayu still metioned about the most important thing of her life.
Possible predictions:
-I’m gonna cry buckets just like AIR
I really do predict that Kanon will be a tragic story,unless of course the remake will change the whole original story plot.
-Yuuichi is going away…
Based on the original Kanon 2002.
-Maybe Ayu didn’t past away
In the original console game, Ayu’s soul was probably separated from her body or maybe it was just Yuuichi’s illusions.
-Yuuichi’s past
Maybe the reason why Yuuichi decided to go away was to avoid a scary past and had forgotten about it.
I’ll add some more mysteries and predictions soon, because Kanon is still ongoing.
